Ta Films (ت) was founded in 2022 by industry veterans, Shivani Pandya Malhotra and Sangeeta Desai to develop and produce premium film and television content from the MENA and South Asia regions.  They created Ta Films to champion original voices, authentic storytelling, and bold creative vision.   

Ta Films is led by Jordanian producer and screenwriter Nadia Eliewat, who serves as CEO and Creative Director.  In 2025, Ta Films acquired Nadia’s company Screen Project, a boutique Jordanian label known for distinctive, artist-driven storytelling.

Ta Films works at the intersection of local narratives and international collaboration, bringing distinctive stories to global audiences.  Its slate is talent-driven, with a strong focus on female perspectives, character-led narratives, and international co-productions.

Ta Films’ first title is the highly anticipated Yemeni feature THE STATION, directed by Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Sara Ishaq. The Station has already won five awards at Final Cut in Venice 2025 and will have its worldwide premiere in the 65th Cannes Critics’ Week in May 2026.

Meet Our Team

    Nadia Eliewat

    Creative Producer & Screenwriter

    Nadia Eliewat is a Jordanian creative producer and screenwriter. Founder of Screen Project (Jordan), and CEO/Creative Director of  Ta Films.

    Nadia producing credits include THE STATION, set to premiere in Cannes’ 65th Critics’ Week,  YELLOW BUS (2023), the first OSN original feature which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (Discovery), the Lebanese box-office hit MAHBAS (Solitaire) in (2016), with over 110,000 admissions in the MENA release, and the Jordanian WHEN MONALIZA SMILED (2012).

    In 2017, Nadia managed the Dubai Film Market; the business hub of Dubai International Film Festival. She was an Associate Professor at the American University in Dubai 2010-2017.

    Sangeeta Desai

    Partner & Co-Executive Chair

    Sangeeta is an experienced C-level executive and Board member in the media industry.

    She has held leadership positions across a range of global content and distribution companies including Group COO and CEO of Emerging Markets at Fremantle Media, COO of HIT Entertainment, President & Board Director of Anton and CEO of OSN. She has also served as non-executive director on multiple Boards, including Boatrocker Media, Ocean Outdoor, Mopar Media and OSN.

    Sangeeta started her career as an investment banker and private equity investor at Goldman Sachs and then Apax Partners. She holds a BS from the Haas School at UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Wharton School at UPenn.

  • Shivani Pandya Malhotra

    Partner & Co-Executive Chair

    Shivani Pandya Malhotra is Managing Director of the Red Sea Film Foundation and a leading force behind the development of film infrastructure in the Arab world.

    Over more than 25 years, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s cinematic landscape, from building the Dubai International Film Festival and serving on the Dubai Film & TV Commission, to establishing the Red Sea International Film Festival alongside its Fund, Labs, and Souk co-production market. Collectively, these initiatives have supported over 650 projects across the Arab world, Africa, and Asia.

    Featured on Variety 500 list, member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Membership Board Director at the Golden Globes, she operates at the intersection of regional storytelling and global industry influence.

  • Hadia Elgawish

    Development Associate

    Hadia Elgawish joined Ta Films in 2026 as a Development Associate, working closely with the company’s CEO on the development slate.

    Her earlier work includes the feature film Mahmool Makfool, the comedy series Stand Up Ya Arab, the talk show Jalsa with Anas & Hala, the drama series The Affair, the musical dramedy Magnouna Beek, and the documentary series Hekayat Wa’d, with projects streaming on platforms including OSN+ and Shahid.

    Her short documentary Moment was selected for 13 international film festivals and received multiple awards, including Best Short Foreign Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival.

    She is particularly interested in stories that centre female perspectives and underrepresented voices.
